Songwriter Indigo Sparke presents her enchanting new release, ‘In the Garden’, complete with an evocative music video. The song emerges from the collaborative efforts of Charlift’s Patrick Wimberly and is brought to life through the production talents of Jake Portrait from Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Experience the visual and aural journey below.
Delving into the inspiration behind the track, Sparke shares, “This melody is a tribute to the enigmatic Mary Magdalene and her many roles—one of healing, strength, and mystery, during tumultuous times when the world was riddled with questions and chaos. The song echoes the rebellion of modern women against being confined to singular, predefined roles, just as Mary Magdalene represents multiple facets of femininity across time. It questions the narratives of sin and separation from nature, exploring the untold wisdom women have brought throughout history. In crafting this song, I aimed to forge a space where all archetypes can dance freely without judgment—a hymn for liberation and connection.”
Following her previous album, Hysteria, released last year, Sparke invites listeners to delve into the stories behind each song with her thorough album breakdown. For further insight into her musical universe, explore our engaging Artist Spotlight interview with Indigo Sparke.
