The captivating series Love, Victor, which is a branch out of the beloved 2018 movie Love, Simon, recently unveiled its touching third and concluding season on Hulu. Featuring the talented Nick Robinson, who not only reappears in his role from the movie but also lends his skills as a producer and narrator for the series, Love, Victor brings audiences back to familiar grounds, setting the plot in the Creekwood High School once graced by Simon. As the story unfolds, we meet Victor Salazar (portrayed by Michael Cimino) who, alongside his half Puerto Rican, half Colombian-American family, steps into Creekwood looking forward to a new chapter. Victor forms a close friendship with his neighbor, Felix (played by Anthony Turpel), who assists him in discovering the lay of the land in the new high school milieu.
An enchanting romance comes to life when Victor develops feelings for Benji (played by George Sear), a confident and openly gay student in a relationship with someone else. In the midst of grappling with his sexual orientation and fearing the response from his traditionally minded parents, Victor struggles with fitting in and confrontations about his family’s economic status also rear their ugly head. Seeking solace and wisdom, Victor turns to Simon for guidance on his complex journey.
The series is applauded for its heartwarming portrayal of LGBTQ+ youth, maintaining a hopeful tone even amid challenging situations.
