The enigmatic music artist Forest Swords is back, breaking his silence with a much-anticipated album titled Bolted, set to release on October 20 through Ninja Tune. The album, his first since Compassion in 2017, will feature new singles including the already unveiled ‘Butterfly Effect’ and ‘Tar’. In celebration of the announcement, two additional tracks, ‘The Low’ and ‘Caged’, have been gifted to fans. Experience the visual artistry for ‘The Low’ and immerse yourself in the auditory landscape of ‘Caged’, provided below.
Regarding ‘The Low’, Matthew Barnes elaborates, “This track originated as a rhythm I crafted with Yoko Ono in mind. It encapsulates elements from both the inception and culmination of the album, weaving together the diverse tones and moods tackled throughout its creation,” he shares. Sam Wiehl collaborates with Barnes on the video, which amplifies the record’s artistic and visual narrative.
The crafting of Forest Swords’ upcoming opus, Compassion, unfolded over the previous year within the cavernous confines of a warehouse factory in his native Liverpool.
