This coming month, fans are in for a special treat as Manchester Orchestra and Jimmy Eat World embark on a joint US tour that spans through the remainder of August. In a delightful musical twist, both bands have chosen to cover one of each other’s iconic tracks: Manchester Orchestra brings their version to ‘Table for Glasses’ from 1999’s Clarity, whereas Jimmy Eat World dives into ‘Telepath’ from 2021’s The Million Masks of God. Give these covers a listen below, and check out the tour dates for their shows.
“Doing covers with one of the bands we look up to was truly an honor,” expressed Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra. “We aimed to pay tribute to the original while having loads of fun discovering the song’s vast nuances.”
Adding to the sentiments, Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World said, “Manchester Orchestra has a remarkable way of orienting you into a whole new realm. We realized that covering a deep song like ‘Telepath’ would require us to embrace the quirkiness of the Jimmy Eat World realm.”
On top of the cover exchange, Manchester Orchestra has also shared their rescheduled London dates, which sold out promptly, alongside a couple of additional UK performances. Take a look at the updated UK tour information as well.
