Phillips Asia Launches Round-the-Clock Digital Auction Platform

Esteemed auction firm Phillips has recently launched a new around-the-clock, exclusively online auction that showcases a dynamic collection of works from both burgeoning artists and established veterans. This digital event, stretching from July 21 to July 28, represents an impressive fusion of art and technology.

Ever since its inception by the Asian division of Phillips in 2019, the annual online auction has become a testament to the middle market’s strength and adaptability. Each installment has welcomed a steadily increasing number of newcomers to the Phillips digital experience.

One of the noteworthy pieces drawing attention to the auction is a sculpture by Mr. titled Happy, which pays homage to the esteemed American singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams. Mr.’s work, with its attention to detail, instantly conjures the image of Pharrell, complete with his iconic fedora hat and bow tie. The artwork’s name also echoes the title of Pharrell’s acclaimed song, reflecting how the musician has influenced both popular culture and art with his diverse art collection, including a longstanding appreciation for Mr.’s vibrant depiction of Japanese street life.

Open for bids from July 21 at midnight HKT until the closing on July 28 at 6 pm HKT, the full catalog of the art pieces on offer is available for perusal at Phillips.com and through the Phillips App.
